Shanghai Autoliv auto safety system co., ltd. is a joint venture between autoliv co., ltd. and Shanghai shengsheng investment co., ltd. in Shanghai, China, specializing in automobile passive safety system products, mainly producing airbag products, of which autoliv co., ltd. accounts for 60% of the joint venture. The company fully implements autoliv’s product, technology and management standards, strictly implements its technical specifications, quality assurance and after-sales service, and meets autoliv’s global quality standards.
The company was officially approved and registered by Shanghai municipal government in November 1999, becoming the first sino-foreign joint venture air bag production company approved in China. Located in jiading industrial park, Shanghai, the factory was completed in June 2001 and put into production in March 2002.
With an initial investment of 7 million dollars, the plant area of the first phase is 2,800 square meters, with an annual output of 400,000 sets of automobile airbags and a long-term target of 1 million sets. Within 3-5 years, Autoliv will build an international level safety system development center in Shanghai, including real car crash test, bench test, computer crash simulation, air bag certification test, etc. Autoliv have the ability to independently develop the air bag system for Chinese customers, so as to better meet customers’ personalized requirements for products.
